Letters of Note: Don't get pompous with me

October, 1996. Having recently been interviewed for Rolling Stone, an angry Hunter S. Thompson writes a heated letter to his good friend and long-time collaborator, illustrator Ralph Steadman, and threatens to sever their relationship. Jenny McCarthy revisited

This new video nicely summarises the argument against USA’s anti-vaccination movement, specifically its primary cheerleader Jenny McCarthy.

The issue is a good example of the modern celebrity phenomenon. One would think that trusting medical professionals would be easier than trusting unqualified porn actresses on issues relating to public health. But such is the nature of media that celebrity has greater currency than science, and truth is in the eye of the beholder.

Kids' games

Why is the new mural in the Children's ward at Southend Hospital giving the kids nightmares?

I never understood why, even after a total zombie holocaust, you never saw zombie kids. Single hits like the undead baby in the remake of Dawn of the Dead, and the lad in the petrol station in 28 Day Later don't count.
